If you intend to sell Partnership Plans on or after August 1, 2008, you will be required to take eight hours of training prior to selling a Partnership policy. Producers should be aware that the sale of Partnership Plans is subject to suitability standards. DIFP has already received consumer calls in which producers are advising consumers to drop their current policy and purchase a Partnership policy. In some cases, it may be unsuitable if additional products or riders are added to a policy in an attempt to entice a consumer to obtain Partnership status.
